visited Haikou and the 6th CICPE.

the Haikou National High-tech Zone Exhibition,

您这次到访海口，尤其是在海南消博会期间，对海口的氛围印象如何？
What's your impression of Haikou during this visit, and especially during the Hainan Expo, how is Haikou’s vibe?

I think it's really amazing. I have seen a tremendous change here. Haikou has managed to have a good and big transformation since the first time I visited. From this Expo, I can see big changes in technology, yet you have retained the uniqueness of Haikou. You have also managed a very successful ecological transition, which I believe is very, very important for us, for the people who live in cities.
您对海口举办2026年UCLG ASPAC理事会会议有何总体期待？
What's your overall expectation for Haikou hosting the UCLG ASPAC 2026 council meeting？
我对海口抱有很高的期待，尤其是对我们即将在今年十月召开的理事会会议。海口是海南自由贸易港核心引领区，这对于会议实现进一步提升是一个重大机遇——不仅是城市基础设施的提升，还包括如何改善我们会员城市和地方政府之间的国际贸易。这也包括向海口学习，如何在短短十年内实现转型和这些变革。
I have big expectations from Haikou, especially for the council meeting we are going to have thisOctober. Since Haikou has been identified as the core leading zone of Hainan Free Trade Port, this is a big opportunity for the meeting in Octoberto achieve further improvement — not only in urban infrastructure but also in how we can improve international trade among our member cities and local governments. This also includes learning from Haikou how it managed to transform and make these changes within just one decade.
您对UCLG ASPAC与海口未来在各领域的交流有何建议？
What's your suggestion for the future exchanges between UCLG ASPAC and Haikou in various sectors？
我认为双方合作潜力巨大。海口一直是UCLG ASPAC非常活跃的成员，现在我们看到了这里的巨大转型。在可持续发展领域，我们可以共同开展许多工作，尤其是结合高科技的生态转型，这一点非常好。
I see very big potential for further collaboration. Haikou has been a very active member of UCLG ASPAC, and now we see a big transformation here. Many things can be done together in the field of sustainable development, especially the ecological transition with high technology speeds, which is very good.

I also think it's very important that Haikou is famous for tourism, so we want further collaboration on culture, tourism, and development. Haikou is an active member of the tourism committee of UCLG ASPAC, so we want to collaborate on urban planning, sustainable development, and cultural and tourism exchanges.

Another important aspect is that Haikou has very good AI and other technologies. Therefore, we want to work on digital governance, including smart city development, to help people live more conveniently, effectively, and productively. Additionally, from this Expo, I see many possibilities for cooperation, as Haikou brings together business companies, consumers, and producers. Finally, taking advantage of Haikou as an international resort airport, we want to cooperate more on international trade and local economic development.
